Laguna Beach: The ocean calms my restless soul
I had a work meeting in Irvine for a work meeting and managed to persuade my boyfriend into coming along and go to down to Laguna Beach afterwards. Laguna was a quick 20 min drive away and we decided to check out Thousand Steps beach first after recommendations from the locals. The beauty and charm Laguna had to offer was a breath of fresh air from the noisy and polluted Hollywood. We spent a couple of hours on the beach, just enjoying the sensation of sand between our toes, the rumbling sound of the sea and the sun licking our skin. Days like this remind you how refreshing being in nature is - taking a break from our busy schedule to just be, and breath. I like the quote "the ocean calms my restless soul". It really does.
After some much needed vitamin sea (and D) we walked the "thousand" steps back up to our car and drove to the center of Laguna. We wanted to have lunch at a restaurant with ocean view and decided to check out The Deck. Food was delicious and the view gorgeous.
We are already planning our next trip. We're thinking of going over the weekend and stay one or two nights, that way we can really explore and get to know Laguna Beach. Then I should also be able to provide a detailed travel guide for you guys.
Oh and in case you need an excuse to go to Laguna (or just the beach), there is no greater healer than salt water. Swimming in the ocean makes the immune system stronger, hydrates your skin and boosts circulation. Also, seawater that is rich in magnesium has shown to relax muscles and helps induce sleep. You're welcome!
